We hope it lasts as long as out previous Hoover, bagged, vaccum. That one lasted 15 years with once a week use.Hoover U5140-900 Tempo Widepath Bagged Upright Vacuum I checked Consumer Reports before making this purchase. This was the lowest price vacuum that had good ratings. I was originally interested in bagless, but I heard the filters in the bagless are more trouble than the bags. This vacuum works great and is a significant improvement over the one that it replaced. Great carpet vac, a bit on noisy side, wear ear plugs to keep from fatiquing. Works great on bare foors, just that hose is a little short. I've only had this vacuum for about a week, but so far so good. After my vacuum died on me, I was tempted to buy an expensive vacuum, after hearing my friends rave about their Dyson animal. But I just couldn't justify spending that much on a vacuum cleaner. So...I decided to do some research online and finally decided to try this one. The first time I used it, I was amazed at how the vacuum was almost pulling me along. Definitely does a better job than our old vacuum (I believe we had a Panasonic, from my husband's bachelor days--I didn't even know they made vacuums!) My only complaint is that the extension wands are not that long. I might have to purchase another one so I can vacuum the dust along our windows. But if all you're doing is vacuuming carpet or bare floors, then it does a great job. Hopefully, it will continue to perform this well for years! It's after seeing mostly good reviews it's hard to know what you will expcet when you get the product. Overall it's a very good vacuum and the low price makes it that much better. It's just as powerful as the more expensive ones and it's lighter weight so it's easier to carry and push around. The hose is not as flexible or as long as other vacuums but they come with 2 hose extensions to reach but its not as convient than if the hose would just be more flexible. The light in front is a good plus for a low priced vacuum. One other negative is that when you lower it, it still does not fit under a standard bed frame to clean. So it's great for the money and it work good on carpeting and floors and I'm very happy with the overall convenince of it. Hoover, Tempo Bagged Upright Vac, Headlight, Deluxe Stretch Hose, 15" Cleaning Width, Includes Deluxe Set Of Attachments. The Tempo WidePath features a 15-inch cleaning path for super fast vacuuming when you need it the most. Plus, the WidePath cleans indoor air while you vacuum, thanks to an innovative allergen filtration system that traps 100 percent of dust mites, 99.98 percent of ragweed, and common grass pollens for cleaner breathing and fresher air. A powerful, 12 amp motor provides ample suction and doesn't leave anything behind. A brilliant headlight illuminates the cleaning path to ensure thorough vacuuming. Onboard tool storage keeps attachments, such as a dusting brush, furniture nozzle, crevice tool, and two extension wands in close reach. A smaller profile (approximately 33-1/4 by 18-1/2 by 9-1/2 inches) and lighter overall weight makes the Tempo WidePath easy to push, and easier to maneuver around and under furniture, too. I have 2 cats and a dog, and between them you couldn't sit on the couch without getting hair everywhere. This vacuum i light and the brushes do a really good job at picking up all the hair. Its compact which is good because even still I have to vacuum the couch every other day. I would probably give up if I had an upright vacuum and the pet attachments. It works better on smooth furniture (like suede) better than textured cloth, but it still does a great job on both. the only slight downside is that the compartment for dirt is small so you empty it often, but on the other hand it would be to big and heavy if this was bigger. So overall I love this machine. I was expecting a great product and I received one. This little hand held vacuum is amazing. I am sorry I went so long without it and my stairs have never looked better. The vacuum works well. We use it mostly to clean our sofa and stairs. I used it once to clean out my car, but it is a bit heavy and awkward to use in the car. My shop vac works better. The spinning brush does a good job of picking up our Labrador Retriever's hair from the couch. However, a piece of thread from the carpet got stuck in the brush and it was a pain to pick it out. Overall it does a good job, probably better than the other small vacuums we looked at. I got this vacuum for my truck and limited areas in our home. WOW!! what a surprise at the power. We have a good household vacuum but this 71b picked up dirt and pet hair that our big unit did'nt. I only wish it came with an extra filter. R.G.Fort Myers,FL. (Naughty Noo-noo - cute!)

(The Noo-Noo Tidies Up)

My little two year old loves Naughty Noo-Noo and this is definately his favorite DVD! He's not much for sitting still but he will for this - thanks!
My daughter loves the Teletubbies. The video is a little different than the TV program. She seems to enjoy the video better.
What is there to say about a vacuum cleaner (aspiradora) that not only tidies up the Teletubbies' house, but also herds, plays with, and chases the Teletubbies with NASCAR sound effects? Preschool kids love this, and although I don't have kids, I bought this for the children of a friend, and watched it to make sure it was appropriate. Adults will find the show extraordinarily boring, of course, but the kids adore it. They seem to particularly enjoy the Noo-Noo sound effects, and imitate him frequently, much to the chagrin of the parents.
The show purports to be educational somehow, which is where the three star rating comes into play. It is very captivating and entertaining for kids, but is not really terribly educational, although a guest spot demonstrates how adding water to dirt makes mud to play in (a lesson I am not sure most parents really need glorified).
The DVD has a couple of extras, including a highly entertaining overview of Noo-Noo operations titled "The Noo-Noo's Silliest Moments." This is easily the most entertaining part of the DVD.
I attempted to watch the DVD in French as well, which is allegedly an option, but although I got the English subtitles to work, I could never get the French option to work.
This DVD will keep your children entertained, but side effects include Noo-Noo imitation at mealtimes, so don't say I didn't warn you.
Slurpy slurp! The Teletubbies' favorite friend is the Noo-noo! This friendly vacuum cleaner is very good at tidying up after Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po when they make a mess, but sometimes he just can't help being naughty! It's a messy day to play and giggle with the Teletubbies and the Noo-noo!

(Chris Whitley's Dirt Floor CD)

(raw acoutic blues, a real winner.)

(If you only buy 1 Chris Whitley album, buy this one!)

It's A Pretty Good CD.
I Miss Chris Whitley.
Chris Was So Great. His Style Of Music Was One Of A Kind.
Love Ya Chris.
Only very rarely the first encounter with a record may struck you as lightning. The experience that you have always known this music, yet nothing will remain the same anymore. For me this was the case with Joy Division, Nick Drake's Pink Moon, Bruce Springsteen's Nebraska and now Dirt Floor. Stripped to the bare essence: just Chris Whitley's voice and his dobro. This music makes you uneasy but is comforting too.
Very sad he had to die so young. He seems to have played a lot in Holland, during the years he lived in Germany. Had I known him before, I would certainly have gone to see him as often as I could.
this is a fantastic recording of low-down raw acoustic blues. the production has a real live flavor that is carried along by a raunchy rythmic groove. whitley is one of the few white singers who can sing the blues without sounding light-weight (or just plain silly), and his guitar playing is tough sounding, without any of that over-produced quality that so many modern blues recording suffer from. great stuff.
Recorded in two days, in a barn in Vermont, there is nothing on this record save for gleaming chords and ferocious grimy footstomps, and a voice that makes you want to drive your car over the edge of the highest bridge in the world. When that national guitar hits you, you feel it in your chest like a physical blow, you feel it in your spine, and you feel it in your throat, somewhere between a laugh and a sob. "And the mist shall be your balanket...as the dirt shall be your bed."
Let hell rise up if there is anything on this earth is as true as this album. When it's raining and you are alone, and you listen, you begin to understand what it means to be alive.
Enjoy.
Probably the most difficult obstacle Chris Whitley faced during his career was that he had a hard time building a solid fan base, because his sound always drastically changed from album to album. He was an experimenter and an innovator, and his albums are very hit-and-miss for me. I liked his electric stuff OK, but I think he really shined on the albums where he threw out all the other instruments and electronic experimentation and just sang and played his heart out on slide guitar (sometimes accompanied by a straight beat from a bass drum or stomp box). "Dirt Floor" is by far the very best of his acoustic albums, and my only complaint about it would be that it is too short!!! It is not a quite a blues album, although many of the songs are definitely blues influenced, but more of a folksy, dark, gritty, acoustic singer-songwriter album. (and his lyrics are excellent, conjuring up visions of steel mills, grinding gears, hot city streets, and dusty forgotten desert towns - real genuine blues stuff!)
If you buy this album (which you should), and you love it (which you will), also try "War Crime Blues" (about 90% stripped down acoustic songs), "Live At Martyr's" (acoustic live - high energy), "Weed" (lots of his electric songs re-done acoustic), "Perfect Day" (acoustic covers, done with Madeski and Wood), and the out-of-print "Poison Girl" EP, if you can find it. "Hotel Vast Horizon" isn't too bad either, but it just doesn't seem as inspired as the others, and "Long Way Around: An Anthology" has several good acoustic demos and the better stuff from his electic experimentation.
It's too bad he had to go and die on us, before he could make more awesome music...
An excellent slide guitarist with a confident, veloce curviness that varies high, lonesome country with moaning country blues, Whitley unraveled his early commercial potential one album at a time. He deserves our admiration for following up his mostly acoustic debut,Living with the Law,with a pair of white-noise albums loud enough to make Sonic Youth wear earplugs. But he also lost his lucrative contract with Sony. "Dirt Floor," with a barren, desperate quality and iterative images of running (especially on the intense "Ballpeen Hammer" and the love-and-loss ballad "Loco Girl") has the same airy, blues feeling of his superb early singles.--Steve Knopper

(Vacuum Bagging and Moulding Techniques for Homebuilders!) Tucker@Mountainbikes.net

This video is billed as a how-to, when in fact you can learn MUCH more by reading on the internet. While billed as a demonstration of techniques, they SHOW very little - the two people who star in this videotape must really have loved getting their 15 minutes of fame, because much the largest part of the program is them TALKING about what they did, with intermittent (and not very informative) glimpses of the actual work. Boring discourse and very little useful demonstration of techniques. Charging $45 for this talkfest is a JOKE!
This video was a great primer for anyone who is interested in learning vacuum bagging techniques or how composite structures are built. While the video suggests advanced audiences, I think it is also appropriate for intermediates and even newbies to composite structure construction. The video does a pretty good job of laying out a repeatable process as well as showing via the video how to follow these steps. While some"how to"video's move at a snail's pace, this one moves along more briskly but shows just enough that you should be able to get the hang of things and repeate the process. While some previous work with composites are certainly a plus when watching this video, I think this video could easily be used by new comers without too much trouble. The finished composite structure that is built from this video is beautiful and inspiring to those hoping to construct their own homebuilt creations. Kudo's too for building a video on a set of techniques are often thought to be"beyond the reach of home builders". This video brings home the attainability of this technology. I think the video actually could have benefited from being a bit more technical to help more advanced audiences (for example they don't give detailed specifics on the vacuum pressure or equipment used) but other than that it's a great video.
The second of this two part series begins with completed molds and is designed for someone ready for advanced skills. In this video, we guide the University of Akron student team through a carbon fiber part layup and vacuum bag a Supermileage Racer shell. You will see the complete process of scheduling, laying up the graphite layers, a carbon/honeycomb sandwich and the vacuum bagging process. These techniques have never been captured on tape before!

(Easy and Effective portable cleaner)

(BD CHV1400 Dust Buster)

I really like this product. It picks up everything, including cheerios and with a toddler, it comes in so handy! Lots of power and holds the charge well and I don't feel like I have to empty it every time I use it.
I bought the product a few weeks ago and it has been very useful to clean small parts of the house especially the steps and also inside the car.It has worked well so far.
The B&D Cyclonic DustBuster has been a very effective portable cleaning unit in my house - easily picking up dirt and dog hair from tight corners where nothing else seems able to reach. Its small size, quick charging cycle, and ease in emptying makes this one the best in the line of DustBusters !
After a Memorial Day trip to the beach with our 4 young girls, my wife used the Dustbuster to clean the car. No sand anywhere. Should have bought one years ago.
Product delivers on what was advertised. It has great power for picking up things and is very versatile with the attachments. I have heard that some have complained about how long the charges last, but it seems to do everything that I need it to do. If you have that big a mess, maybe you should use a plug-in vacuum cleaner. I was very satisfied with the purchase.
Dustbuster, 14.4V, Cyclonic Action Cordless Vac, 50% More Exhaust Filter, Third Stage, Charging Indicator, Translucent Bowl, Easy Clean Filter.
With unsurpassed sucking power and the convenience of cordless, Black&Decker's 14.4-Volt Cyclonic DustBuster is a great vacuum to have around the house, shop or office. Cyclonic Action circulates dirt and debris in the bowl and around the filter, allowing air to pass through the machine with no reduction in suction power. With the filtration system running so efficiently, the DustBuster has more power and more run time than any other cordless, hand held vacuum. The translucent bowl let's you see the dirt moving around the filter, so you know when it's time to empty the collection bin. No more handling dirty filters, when its time to clean, simply turn the Filter Cleaning Wheel to shake off fine debris. That simple action increases suction power by 80 percent! A quick-slide charging base mounts on the wall for easy access and quick response to tracked-in mud, spilt cereal, and more!--Brian Olson

(Good vacuum for some, bad for others)

(toro blower/vac)

Works Great. Easy to use and put together. Very light for the power it gives out. Haven't used the bagging feature but I bought it for the big wind! Use with a quality Xtension cord and this thing should last for years, it is a Toro.
Lot's of power. Works great. Perfect for walkways, decks and patios, driveways, leaves in beds, etc.
My brother and I have been using this blower/vacuum for several months now. My brother used it to mulch a large pile of leaves that had been sitting for quite some time; it did the job without any problem (this task had already burned out the motor on a cheaper tool). I've used it to clean up some oak leaves that had been around all winter and were plastered to the ground. The Toro's been up to most tasks (nothing seems to be able to pick up my sweet gum maple fruit, darn it). The motor has developed a very slight "winding down ringing" when we power it down, but that's it. The vacuum power is the best I've experienced. The metal blades are a real plus when mulching, making leaf cleanup go faster.
I suggest if you are buying this for a leaf vacuum then be careful if you have small twigs/branches on the ground. It would have worked great if I didn't have twigs and/or branches laying on the ground by the leaves. I am sure this would have been fine to use if it is leaves only. I gave it 3 stars for it's quaility of build, but unfortunately not practical for me to keep. In my case it jams up every 30 seconds.
Great product, vac ability is very nice for removal of dirt/grass after power edging. Am pleasantly surprised at its ability. Own a number of Stihl produts and wanted a vac but really did not want to shell out 300+ dollars for something used less frequently. I also purchased a 100 ft. power cord 14/3. Very satisfied.
